We work with young people at risk of homelessness and their families to ensure they can stay in a safe home environment.

How we help:

Reconnect Fraser Coast works with young people aged 12-18 who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness (early home leaving). We assist young people to remain in their family home, to overcome conflict, strengthen communication and work through the challenges of their changing role in their family.  If this is not possible we assist young people to live independently or with extended family while maintaining strong community and family links in the hope that this will strengthen their ability to engage in education, employment and the community.

Roughly one-third of Reconnect clients are of Indigenous heritage. Reconnect supports the maintenance and continued development of Indigenous culture in the Fraser Coast community with an emphasis on building, modelling, and sustaining the application of cultural capabilities within the community. Reconnect has a strong relationship with indigenous organisations, programs and celebrations including NAIDOC week 2016 attending the Maryborough opening ceremony, which started a weeklong of activities over the Fraser Coast.
