This heart-warming initiative aims to foster a love for reading among children aged six to seven, promoting literacy, language skills, and overall well-being.

Who we can help

The Read Bears program, known for its cuddly companionship and educational impact, has been a beacon of hope and learning for Fraser Coast school children.

Year 1 students from participating schools receive their very own Read Bear.

Each meticulously handmade bear, complete with a personalised name tag, becomes a cherished friend to its young recipient.

How we can help

Encouraged to read to their furry buddies every weeknight, children find motivation, comfort, and joy in their new literary companions.

We partner with schools to supply Read Bears, which are lovingly made by the amazing volunteers of Fraser Coast Artslink, as well as other generous community members.
