Every year, HBNC, in partnership with local Fraser Coast high schools and Youth Service providers, surveys young people in years 7 to 12 to gather information on the issues and challenges youth are experiencing. This includes information around homelessness, safety, mental health, and alcohol and other drugs. The purpose of the survey is to continue on the work from the last 5 years, to gather data and address the lack of evidence available within the Fraser Coast youth sector around homelessness and the social issues coinciding with homelessness.

Throughout August - November, a total 561 young people across 6 schools participated in the 2023 Fraser Coast Youth Survey. Thank you to Aldridge State High School, Urangan State High School, Fraser Coast Anglican College, Maryborough State High School, Riverside Christian College, and Glendyne Carinity for participating in this important survey. The survey is now in its 5th year and a multi-year snapshot has now been developed as a result of the survey being completed yearly.
