Kindness was all around as hundreds gathered for the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre’s World Kindness Day event on Friday night.

Around 400 people came through the community centre, enjoying live music, delicious food and drinks and community-made art.

The event was a chance to celebrate kindness and positivity after an incredibly tough year and the community certainly came together for this spirit-lifting evening.

This was the first major event the Neighbourhood Centre put on during the COVID-19 era and it was a resounding success.

Congratulations to the winners of the people’s choice art competition:

  • Aged 7-11 years: Poppy Clews
  • Aged 12-17 years: Deia Raxach
  • Adult: Mary Arnold

Thank you also to Fraser Coast Regional Council, Fraser Coast Entertainment and Green Dog Events for helping make the event happen.

A special shout out goes to local musical talent, Clear Effect and Melomania, for providing the tunes.
