I am humbled and honoured to write about Sonia Raco. She is a positive presence in my life now and her clients.

She believes everybody has potential and can achieve anything. Her business is about empowering her clients to achieve their goals while managing their well-being.

I had the chance to interview her.

These were her responses.

What made take up this type of work?

I work in the counselling and therapy space because when I was in Sydney, I saw people mentally burnt-out. I saw it in my colleagues and other women. Working 12-hour days, it is no fun. Back then it was a stigma, mentioning mental health problems, but I brought it to light by assisting and directing them.

When I moved to Hervey Bay, I also saw a greater need for those services.  I got into coaching, and mentoring women through helping and guiding them in their businesses and personal lives.

Also, it was during this time I got into disability work. I have a sister living with impairments of her hearing and sight. Having a sibling living through these impairments motivated me to help people with disabilities to achieve their goals, which has been rewarding.

How has your work benefited your clients' lives?

Every client’s journey is different. It is about an individual’s goals.

One was a client who wanted to be an author. I mentored him professionally and mentally to achieve that goal.

He benefited greatly from my assistance, and it was rewarding to see him achieve it with such optimistic energy.

There are more stories like that.

Every client’s journey is different.

Sonia treats her clients the way she wants to be treated. She cares for them the way she wants to be cared for.

She often saw clients neglected, and their needs not met. She found out while doing this work if a client was willing to do the work, goals are achieved.

Sonia is happy not to be in the spotlight. She is happy for her clients to take centre stage to claim their prize.

She believes it is her time to give back to her community, her clients and her family.

Sonia cares about the well-being of Fraser Coast.

Hopefully by serving her community, she will help make it mentally and spiritually healthy.

Harmony Pathway is Sonia's business. Her business model is about happiness, empowerment, positivity and outcomes.

She assists women, and people with disabilities to achieve their best lives.

For that, we are grateful.
