Whether you're renewing your workplace certification, caring for family members, volunteering in the community, or simply want to be prepared for an emergency, this nationally recognised First Aid & CPR course provides the knowledge and hands-on experience to help you act quickly and confidently.

Through a combination of online learning and practical, face-to-face training, you'll learn how to recognise and respond to a range of emergency situations while following current Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines. Practical scenarios and demonstrations ensure you leave with skills you can apply in both workplace and everyday situations.

What you'll learn

  • Assess emergency situations and ensure scene safety.
  • Perform CPR on adults, children and infants.
  • Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
  • Respond to choking, unconsciousness and breathing emergencies.
  • Manage bleeding, burns, fractures, sprains and other common injuries.
  • Recognise and respond to medical emergencies, including asthma, anaphylaxis, seizures and shock.
  • Communicate effectively with emergency services and provide ongoing care until help arrives.

Course information

This course includes a self-paced online theory component, followed by a practical face-to-face training and assessment session. Successful participants will receive nationally recognised Statements of Attainment for:

  • HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • HLTAID010 – Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
  • HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid

Her friendly, supportive approach creates an engaging learning environment where participants can develop practical, real-world skills through hands-on activities, demonstrations and guided practice.

This event is part of Night Studio, HBNC's after-hours learning program for adults. Night Studio offers practical, engaging workshops designed to help you build skills, explore new ideas, and connect with others in a supportive environment.
