Breaking Taboos: HBNC Launches 'The Nostalgia Lounge' For Navigating Cognitive Changes HBNC is thrilled to announce the launch of The Nostalgia Lounge, a brand-new weekly social group specifically designed for individuals living with the early stages of cognitive decline and their dedicated carers. A diagnosis of memory change can feel overwhelming, but HBNC believes that connection should never stop. Breaking through the unhelpful taboos that often surround cognitive decline, this initiative embraces a warm, vibrant, and "glass half full" approach to community support. The group focuses on creating a safe, highly inclusive environment where participants can let their guard down, build meaningful friendships, and share genuine understanding with peers navigating similar journeys. The program offers a crucial lifeline for both sides of the care partnership. While individuals experiencing memory change participate in gentle, failure-free weekly activities tailored to support cognitive well-being, carers and partners have a dedicated opportunity to network, exchange experiences, and find mutual support. The Nostalgia Lounge offers a variety of topics and activities, the space aims to create a welcoming environment to connect with others in the community.
