HBNC is thrilled to announce the launch of The Nostalgia Lounge, a brand-new weekly social group specifically designed for individuals living with the early stages of cognitive decline and their dedicated carers.

A diagnosis of memory change can feel overwhelming, but HBNC believes that connection should never stop. Breaking through the unhelpful taboos that often surround cognitive decline, this initiative embraces a warm, vibrant, and "glass half full" approach to community support. The group focuses on creating a safe, highly inclusive environment where participants can let their guard down, build meaningful friendships, and share genuine understanding with peers navigating similar journeys.

The program offers a crucial lifeline for both sides of the care partnership. While individuals experiencing memory change participate in gentle, failure-free weekly activities tailored to support cognitive well-being, carers and partners have a dedicated opportunity to network, exchange experiences, and find mutual support.

The Nostalgia Lounge offers a variety of topics and activities, the space aims to create a welcoming environment to connect with others in the community.

Launching on Monday, 6th July 2026, the weekly sessions are structured to combine active engagement with relaxed, open socialisation over morning tea.

Program Information & Session Details:

• When: Mondays (Weekly) commencing 6th July 2026
• Timeline: 
  •  9:00 AM – Welcome & settling in
  • 9:30 AM – Engaging group activities
  • 11:30 AM – Cuppa & conversations
• Where: The Urangan Community Wellness Centre, Elizabeth Street, Urangan
• Cost: $5 per person
