What's on Understanding Neurodivergence: Understanding Sensory Processing Sensory processing differences can have a significant impact on how neurodivergent individuals experience and interact with the world. This workshop provides an introduction to sensory processing, exploring the differences between sensory seeking and sensory avoidance, common sensory triggers, and how these can affect daily life. Participants will gain practical, neuro-affirming strategies to create supportive environments that reduce distress, improve participation, and help neurodivergent individuals thrive at home, school, work, and in the community. She is known for her compassionate, evidence-based approach and her commitment to inclusive, neuro-affirming care. Skye works with neurodivergent individuals across the lifespan, including those with autism, ADHD, and cognitive differences. Her approach is strengths-based and person-centred, supporting individuals, families, and support networks to better understand diverse ways of thinking, processing, and engaging with the world. She is passionate about reducing stigma and shifting perspectives away from deficit-based models, instead recognising neurodivergence as an important part of identity. Her work focuses on translating psychological knowledge into practical strategies that enhance wellbeing, participation, and quality of life.
