Join us at The Neighbourhood Centre with educator John Parsons for an engaging & educational workshop that uncovers the incredible ecological role these tiny nocturnal mammals play in our environment. Through a visual presentation, hands-on learning and real-life examples, you’ll explore: The unique biology and behaviour of microbats Their crucial role in natural pest control Local species found across the Fraser Coast Conservation challenges Practical ways you can support bat-friendly habitats at home and in the community This interactive session is perfect for nature lovers, backyard gardeners, families, educators, and anyone curious about our fascinating native wildlife. DATE: Tuesday 16 JuneTIME: 6:00pm - 7:30pm LOCATION: The Hervey Bay Community Centre Neighbourhood Night Studio is a relaxed, welcoming after-hours creative space where adults can explore art, learn new skills, and connect with others in a supportive, no-pressure environment. Running weekly in the early evening, the program is designed for beginners and non-artists, with an emphasis on process over perfection and people over performance. To remove barriers and make participation easy, sessions are low-cost, wheelchair accessible, and supported with clear, encouraging guidance. To further support inclusion, free dinner and $5 on-site supervised children's activities will be provided, making it easier for parents and carers to attend, slow down, and enjoy time for creativity, connection, and wellbeing.
