After 10 successful years, HBNC will no longer run Tour De Bay: Ride For A Reason. Now, an exciting new fundraising partnership has been launched.

We are thrilled that the Hervey Bay Triathlon Club has chosen HBNC's Youth Mentoring program as its charitable cause for 2023, through the Col Pearce Corporate Triathlon, to be held on April 23rd.

This fundraising partnership will replace Tour De Bay, which has been HBNC's major Youth Mentoring fundraising event for 10 years.

HBNC CEO, Tanya Stevenson, said it has not been an easy decision but the time for a change had come.

"We know the community has loved taking part in and supporting Tour De Bay, and I sincerely thank everyone who has jumped on their bikes and dug into their pockets to support Youth Mentoring over the past decade," Tanya said.

"This new partnership still provides keen cyclists the chance to get involved in an exciting event, while continuing to support Youth Mentoring."

Tour De Bay memories.

Tanya also acknowledged the many local businesses and organisations who had supported and sponsored Tour De Bay over the years, including Rotary Sunrise who always provided a delicious cooked breakfast.

Last year, the event raised about $15,000 for Youth Mentoring and Tanya was confident the triathlon result would be bigger and better.

"I am so excited and grateful to the Triathlon Club for partnering with us in this way. Funds raised through this event will make a real differences in the lives of Hervey Bay school students by providing them with a mentor who can help them stay engaged at school," she said.
