Over the past six weeks, a team of 24 dedicated individuals has been hard at work meticulously restoring and enhancing the Freshwater Street mosaic.

As the project reaches its halfway point, the mosaic is gradually emerging with a fresh new look that honours the public artwork's history.

Paul Perry, a renowned mosaic artist, has lent his expertise to this project, guiding the restoration process with an artist's touch. Alongside him is Kay Distel, a passionate local leader who has championed the cause of preserving and revitalising this community icon.

Together, they form a dynamic partnership, blending artistic vision with a deep appreciation for the mosaic's historical significance.

Paul and Kay have led a series of workshops at The Neighbourhood Hive, teaching the art of mosaic while creating something new for the community to cherish.
