Give a gift with heart

That's what we're asking Fraser Coast locals to do this year. We are so grateful for the support this community shows us each year, as we work towards our mission of supporting the region's most vulnerable.

This year, we are asking community members to support one of our self-funded programs, to ensure we can continue to offer mentoring to students, unique community hubs and nutritious meals for those in need.

HBNC CEO, Tanya Stevenson, said “We really couldn’t do what we do without the generous support of the community. Every year, we see gifts pour in and know that every cent makes a huge difference.”

Youth Mentoring

The Youth & Family Mentoring Program supports young people in the education system who are experiencing difficulty interacting, contributing and participating in the community. This program has been self-funded by community for over a decade, relying on fundraising and donations to keep it going. Your donation will help us provide mentors for Hervey Bay school students.

The Neighbourhood Hive

The Neighbourhood Hive is an initiative of the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre, aimed at breaking down social barriers, encouraging innovation and promoting collaboration in our community through the sharing of skills and knowledge.

It’s a new community centre but at its heart, it’s more than that. It’s a unique project aimed at combatting loneliness and isolation and giving the Fraser Coast a place where people from all generations and walks of life can exchange ideas and learn from each other. Your donation will help us run this unique community hub which includes the Bub Hub.

Comfort Kitchen

The Comfort Kitchen program provides free hot and nutritious meals to help disadvantaged people in the Fraser Coast community.  Presently the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre hosts a three course Comfort Kitchen meal, that offer a safe and friendly social gathering for locals needing a helping hand. Comfort Kitchen is open to people in the community of all ages. Your donation will help us serve over 80+ free, nutritious, hot meals every week for those in need.

The Tree House: Urangan Community Wellness Centre

Thanks to the Australian Government, Fraser Coast Regional Council, Metcalfe Constructions and many other local businesses, organisations and community members, The Tree House: Urangan Community Wellness Centre is open for business!

Ongoing funds and support are needed, however, to support the vital community programs run through the centre. Your donation will help us run this unique community hub, with a focus on community health and wellbeing.

This Christmas season, please consider donating to one of our worthy causes.
