In a world where acts of kindness often go unnoticed, volunteers remain the unsung heroes of our communities. They selflessly dedicate their time, energy, and expertise to making the world a better place.

HBNC is committed to telling the stories of these local heroes, which is why we’re so excited to announce launch of the Fraser Coast Heroes Story Book, thanks to a new partnership with Volunteering Queensland.

This new community project will celebrate our local volunteers and inspire others with their stories to create a positive impact in our community.

HBNC CEO, Tanya Stevenson, said our community was blessed with so many kind community members who volunteer each week.

“Volunteering brings people from diverse backgrounds together, fosters a sense of unity, and addresses critical issues that affect our communities. This new initiative recognises the contributions of these remarkable individuals who have chosen to invest their time and passion into helping others,” Tanya said.

Christian Berechree, HBNC Operations Manager, said the book was not just about recognising volunteers.

“The Fraser Coast Heroes Story Book is not just about recognition; it's about creating a ripple effect of inspiration. When we acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of volunteers, we encourage others to follow suit. By celebrating these selfless heroes, we aim to ignite a passion for volunteering across all age groups and inspire future generations to step forward and make a difference,” Christian said.

Do you know someone whose selfless efforts have made a significant difference in the lives of others? Perhaps it's a tireless mentor, a compassionate healthcare worker, or a dedicated environmentalist.
