Get ready to showcase your cultural pride and musical talents as we invite community members to join the Multicultural Choir, performing on stage at Global Beats & Eats.

Taking place on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Seafront Oval, Global Beats & Eats will be a day filled with live performances echoing beats from around the world, captivating art displays, vibrant craft showcases, and engaging cultural activities that will transport you to different corners of the globe.

From soul-stirring melodies to tantalising cooking demonstrations, this event promises an unforgettable journey into cultural harmony and artistic expression.

Led by the dynamic Jon Vea Vea and the Cobblestone band, the Fraser Coast Multicultural Choir promises to bring a diverse array of voices and talents to the stage, celebrating the rich tapestry of cultures that make up our community.

But that's not all — depending on participants' multicultural backgrounds, there will be opportunities to learn a simple dance routine or incorporate dancing sticks to infuse even more passion and energy into the performance.

To ensure that everyone is ready to shine onstage, rehearsal sessions will be held with lunch provided on Saturday, March 9, 2024, and Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

These rehearsals will not only be a chance to fine-tune our performance but also to come together as a community and celebrate our diversity through music and dance.

Cate Akaveka, Community Development Manager at HBNC, shared her excitement about the event.

"Global Beats & Eats is not just a community event — it's an opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the beauty of multiculturalism,” Cate said.

“We are thrilled to include the Fraser Coast Multicultural Choir as part of this event, and we invite everyone to join us in showcasing the richness of our cultural heritage."
