Gentle Yoga for Women

Join us for a 1.5hr yoga classes to improve balance and stability

The yoga classes are being taught by a qualified teacher from The Hervey Bay School of Yoga;  the school teaches Hatha Yoga in the tradition of BKS Iyengar.  This style of yoga upholds the belief that yoga is for every body, and its practical applications are well suitable for aging people as it uses props so that students are able to access and align themselves into the postures.

There are many articles available explaining the benefits of yoga for seniors and I have outlined 6 Benefits of Yoga for Seniors.   Yoga Improves Balance and Stability and prevents the likelihood of falls.

  1. Yoga improves flexibility and Joint Health
  2. Yoga improves respiration (Breathing)
  3. Yoga reduces high blood pressure
  4. Yoga reduces anxiety
  5. Yoga encourages mindfulness
