The Urangan Community Centre is managed by the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre Inc.  It is located in the tranquil setting of the Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens, located on Elizabeth Street, Urangan.

Venue Hire

The Centre has a number of rooms available for community, business and private events hire including a beautiful wooden floorboard Hall (capacity 100 people), which features a roller door opening onto a spacious outdoor deck and rainforest garden. The Centre also features a commercially licenced kitchen and there are multiple meeting rooms available for hire.

Monday and Fridays – one-on-one basic computer skills (last appointment 1pm)
Thursdays 9am until 11.30 - Getting to know Australia – history and geography sessions

Comfort Kitchens

The Comfort Kitchen program provides free hot and nutritious meals to help disadvantaged people in the Fraser Coast community.  Presently the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre hosts three Comfort Kitchen meals, that offer a safe and friendly social gathering for locals needing a helping hand.  Our meal programs are open to people in the community from all ages.

This program is self-funded and relies on the generous money and food donations from local individuals and business, it is also supported by many community volunteers who dedicate their time to cooking and serving the meals.

Tuesday Breakfast

Welcoming families and individuals experiencing hardship. School students lunch packs are available.

Thursday Social Lunch

A social program for residents of Hervey Bay who may feel isolated or alone. Guests are invited to come along and enjoy morning tea and lunch and meet up with others from the community. The program provides board games, newspapers, puzzles, music, magazines and books along with conversation that guests can enjoy. All food served is homemade onsite at the Urangan Community Centre Kitchen by a great group of dedicated volunteers.
