About our Service:

The Taylor Street Community Legal Service (TSCLS) is a program managed by the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre Inc. and dually funded by the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department and the Queensland Department of Justice and Attorney-General.

The service provides quality:

  • legal advice (by appointment);
  • referral;
  • information; and
  • community legal education

How we help

Free of charge to the Fraser Coast, Bundaberg, Gympie and North Burnett local government areas.

Although our service is not means tested, our priority is to assist people experiencing hardship or vulnerable to disadvantage.

This service provision is assisted by local, community-minded volunteers including solicitors who work on a voluntary basis to provide free and confidential legal advice.

The Taylor Street Community Legal Service is aligned with community legal services across Queensland and around Australia.  It is accredited and certified by the National Association of Community Legal Services (NACLC) for quality assurance.

The NACLC logo and trademark displayed by our service identifies endorsement by NACLC as:

  • A member of our State association
  • A member of the group insurance scheme and compliant with risk management and financial management standards
  • Subject to quality peer review

The accreditation and certification process is in place to ensure the public can be confident about the quality of service they can expect to receive from a certified Community Legal Centre.
