A new monthly event to connect people in our community is starting in May.

“Scone Time is a chance for everyone to come together and connect over a sweet treat and a cuppa,” HBNC Community Development Manager, Cate Akaveka said.

“The event is for all but we particularly want to invite those who are new to the community to come along and get connected.”

It will be held on the first Friday of each month at the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre Hall from 10am - 11.30am.

For $5, you will be able to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a scone with jam and cream, and most importantly, great conversation.

“We know how hard it can be to make connections and find friends in a new community, so we want to provide a space where anyone can find a way to get involved,” Mrs Akaveka said.

“Scone Time will be a fun, low-pressure environment where people can learn about the community, discover ways to get involved and hopefully make meaningful connections.”

Everyone is welcome!
