Bernard Whebell

President (2013– Present)

Bernard is a partner with Ulton Chartered Accountants and has lived in Hervey Bay since 2006. Having worked for a number of years in State Government, Bernard moved to Bundaberg and took up a position as an accountant with Hancock Sawyer Corpe who are now known as Ulton. In 2006 he moved to Hervey Bay and became a partner with the firm. Since 2006 Bernard has become active in Rotary and has also been president of the Hervey Bay Chamber of Commerce for three years. He is married with 2 kids who have both gone to school in Hervey Bay.

Kirsti Kee

Vice President (2018-present); President (2014-2017); Vice President (2010– 2014); 

Kirsti moved to Hervey Bay in 2005 and retired from the role of Executive Director, Education Queensland in Wide Bay Burnett in 2009. Her career began as a classroom teacher and took her to Malaysia, the Northern Territory and Queensland. Kirsti has also been a Business Manager and the Director of a TAFE Institute and owner/manager of a small catering business and delicatessen.

Kirsti’s community work ranges from playgroups and school P&Cs to service clubs, cycling groups and surf lifesaving. She is also involved with a number of other community groups in Hervey Bay. Kirsti has four grandchildren and enjoys travelling overseas to visit two of them. During these trips she usually manages to indulge her interest of long distance walking. Fortunately two of her grandchildren live in Brisbane and enjoy visiting Hervey Bay.

Danny Mattsson

Treasurer (2016-Present); Vice President (2014-2016); Committee Member (2011– 2014)

Danny is a long-time resident of Hervey Bay, having attended the local high school more than 40 years ago. While Danny retired from his day job over 5 years ago, he still has a passion for Financial Planning and Business, which assists in his current role as Treasurer. Even before joining the Committee, Danny brought a lot to the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre Inc.; he was the Fund Raising Chairman of the New Hervey Bay Community Centre, and the ‘Tour de Bay’ was his brainstorm! Danny is a charter member of The Rotary Club of Hervey Bay-Sunrise. He enjoys a happy family life with his wife Beryl and their four accomplished children.

Stephen Bell

Committee Member (2019 – Present)

Stephen Bell is a registered Psychologist with over 24 years of experience.  Stephen has worked in specialist and acute public mental health services and he has 10 years experience in senior and executive leadership positions with Queensland Health providing organisational leadership, governance, strategy and operational management.  Stephen has post graduate qualifications in management, is an associate Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management and is also a Nationally Accredited Mediator. 

Darren Bosley

Committee Member (2018 – Present)

Darren began a media career with News Ltd in Adelaide in 1995 which included various management roles across Australia over 15 years. In 2010 he moved his family to Hervey Bay and was General Manager for the Fraser Coast Chronicle for 5 years. His passion for the region and his belief in the benefits of raising a family here has seen been involved with a number of community projects including the founding committee of Bay Break. He is currently employed by Edge Marketing as Business Development Manager and enjoys his golf on weekends.

Ivan Mapp

Committee Member (2019 – Present)

Ivan retired to Hervey Bay in 2014 and has spent holidays in the Bay for over 25 years.  He is a mechanical engineer that spent over 36 years in the electricity industry mainly in power stations.  Ivan and his family spent 21 years in Biloela before moving to Chinchilla to take up the managers role at Kogan Creek Power Station in 2009.  He has been an active member of Rotary since 2000 and was President of Hervey Bay Sunrise Rotary club in 2017/18.  Ivan is involved with Riding for Disabled where his wife Robyn is a coach.  He enjoys anything outdoor including golf, fishing and clay target shooting.  He has two married daughters and has recently become a granddad.

Evan Munroe

Committee Member (2018 – Present)

Evan moved to Hervey Bay from Brisbane in 2013. Evan has worked in the Disability sector for 27 years in small, medium and large not-for-profit organisations. Most recently Evan was CEO of Life Choice but has since left to start his own business, HEEA, providing Allied Health services to people with disability, and Consulting Services to disability service providers and small business. Evan has been a member of many statewide organisations and committees and has strong networks across Queensland. He is committed to ensuring equity and opportunity for all people regardless of any status measure. Outside work hours Evan is a passionate foodie and traveller.

Foram Shah

Committee Member (2016 – Present); Secretary (2018-2019)

Foram Shah moved to Brisbane from Mumbai (India) in 2010 to pursue her Degree in Bachelor of Information Technology. She lived in Brisbane for 4 years and gained experience in the hospitality industry while undertaking IT projects. She is passionate about technology and new gadgets and she has created websites for clients while in Brisbane. In 2014, Foram decided to move to the Fraser Coast with her partner and has worked in the community services sector since then. Foram currently works as a Care Coordinator with Suncare Community Services. Foram and her partner owned and operated a restaurant in Eli Waters for 2.5 years. She enjoys reading, cooking and going for long drives.
