Magic happens under the full moon and we need you to help make some magic happen for the new Tree House: Urangan Community Wellness Centre.

The countdown is on for our gala Picnic Under the Stars fundraiser, held in the stunning Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens on Saturday, October 23rd from 4pm-9pm.

This is a unique opportunity to dress in your garden chic finery, enjoy food, drinks and live music against a picturesque backdrop, all while raising funds for the biggest community project in Urangan’s recent history.

Tanya Stevenson, Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre CEO, said the Picnic Under the Stars was set to be the perfect follow up to the Tree House Ball, held in May.

“We were thrilled to raise $20,000 at the Tree House Ball, now we’re ready to try something new with the Picnic Under the Stars,” Tanya said.

“The wellness centre will be set in Hervey Bay’s stunning botanic gardens so we thought – what better place to host our next fundraiser?”

Tanya said funds raised at the garden party would go towards the fit-out of the new wellness centre. The initial build has been funded by $1.5 million from the Federal Government.

“We’re just a few months away from finishing the major expansion to the Urangan Community Centre, which is being transformed into a health and wellbeing hub,” Tanya said.

“The job doesn’t end there, however, and we still need community support to make this centre a valuable long-term asset for the region.”

The Urangan centre is owned by the Fraser Coast Regional Council and managed by the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre. Metcalfe Constructions have completed the impressive construction work, set to be complete by December 2021.
