The Wide Bay Burnett Community Development
Network started in 2018 and has not met since COVID.
During its operation we valued the opportunities to
connect; learn and grow together; and share stories of
our practices. We would like to bring this network back
together starting with two key emerging initiatives.

1. The Community Development Institute Initiative
(CDII)
In 2022, this Initiative was established by a group of
Queensland citizens and practitioners based on a
growing concern that there is no formal community
development structure that can speak with authority
about community development to government,
universities, and other relevant people across sectors.
CDII is reaching out to engage with people to develop
connections and for people to share their thoughts on
how and why the formation of this Institute would be of
value to people in the Wide Bay-Burnett region.

If you would like to know more about the CD
institute initiative please contact: Natasha Odgers

2. Social Shift
Funding for the Hinkler region to develop place-based
initiatives to address local challenges.
