Learn how to play Ukulele in this 4 week Introductory Course

Join us for some fun and learn a new instrument at the Local Learning Network over 4 Thursdays. This course is for anyone wanting to learn the Ukulele and be able to play a few songs while meeting other like minded community members.

Over the 4 weeks (1 hour per week) learn the foundations of Ukulele playing including the different types of Ukulele, how to tune, basic cords and how to play some popular songs.

Where: The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre, 22 Charles Street Pialba.

When:  4 x Thursdays: 14 October/ 21 October/ 28 October - 4 November

Time: 2.00pm-3.00pm

Cost: $20 per person (includes 4 lessons, tuition, notes and tea and coffee).

* This course is best suited for beginners aged 12 and over. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Bookings: Please book as soon as possible as numbers are limited. Bookings are essential.

This event is part of the HBNC’s Local Learning Network, a series of courses and workshops aimed at introducing Fraser Coast residents to new ideas, skills and friends.

About your volunteer instructors:

Jim Daniell and Mez Smith are well known founders of the Humps Ukulele Group in Hervey Bay. The group has been running for nine years and has more than 200 members. Jim is a local musician and loves leading the local Ukulele group with Mez. They have kindly donated their time and expertise to teach members of the community this fun and easy instrument.

A – If you have your own Ukulele please bring it. If you don't have your own Ukulele yet we will have some for you to use during the first sessions. If you would like advice on which type of Ukulele to purchase please email [email protected]

Q – Is this event Covid Safe?

A - Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre adheres to strict COVID safe practices. We ask that all attendees practice social distancing and stay home if unwell.
