The monthly Culture Caf showcases a particular culture at each event, offering a delicious treat of their cuisine and other cultural assets from their history. This event promotes social inclusion, community cohesion and cross-cultural harmony.

Our Culture Caf events also provide an opportunity to welcome new people to the area, migrants to Australia and socially isolated people in our community. So come along to an enjoyable cafe in the heart of our town in the Hervey Bay Community Centre.

The upcoming Culture Caf discovers the culture of Aboriginal Australians - one of the oldest known civilizations on Earth.

Australia’s first people—known as Aboriginal Australians—have lived on the continent for over 50,000 years. Today, there are 250 distinct language groups spread throughout Australia. They are one of the two distinct groups of Indigenous peoples of Australia, the other being the Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The Aboriginals have historically lived on mainland Australia and its associated islands including Fraser Island, which is a special centre of dingo-related tourism.

To know more about the Aboriginals Australian culture, join us for this upcoming Culture Caf and meet other like-minded individuals. A small entry of $6 is payable upon online booking of each event.

What's included:

  • Cultural information
  • Sample of Aboriginals Australian cuisine
  • Audio-visual presentations
