HBNC is delighted to announce the launch of its new Street Library, proudly provided by the Fraser Coast Regional Council.

This vibrant addition to the community was beautifully designed and painted by Butchulla Elder, Aunty Karen Hall.

Located at the front of the Hervey Bay Community Centre, the Street Library offers a warm invitation for all community members to engage in the joy of reading.

It operates on a simple, community-driven model: take a book, donate a book, or swap a book.

Available Monday to Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm, it fosters a culture of sharing and lifelong learning among residents of all ages.

Tanya Stevenson, CEO of HBNC, shared her excitement about the initiative.

"The Street Library is a wonderful reflection of our community’s spirit of generosity and love for learning,” Tanya said.

“We are grateful to the Fraser Coast Regional Council for their support and to Aunty Karen Hall for her stunning artwork, which adds a unique cultural significance to this project.

“We encourage everyone to come by, explore the library, and be part of this fantastic community resource."
