Crowds gathered at the all new Tree House: Urangan Community Wellness Centre to officially launch this exciting new community space.

It was a chance for community members and supporters to finally see the long-anticipated centre, which has been in construction for close to 18 months.

Danny Mattsson, HBNC Management Committee member, was on hand to chair the official open and he shared the story of how the Urangan Community Centre was transformed into a stunning space focused on all types of wellness.

Following a Welcome to Country from Aunty Frances Gala, Danny thanked the Australian Government for funding the upgrades, Fraser Coast Regional Council for ongoing partnership and support and Metcalfe Constructions for completing the impressive build.

Special mention was made of key individuals, including Tanya Murphy who originated the idea for a community centre specialising in wellness.

Danny also acknowledged architect Gavin Patterson, whose beautiful designs shaped the centre into what it is today. Gavin sadly passed away before the project was finished.

The centre is already bustling, with a range of activities planned as part of the 100 Days of Wellness campaign.

If you would like to support the ongoing management of this unmatched community space, be sure to buy a ticket for the Tree House Spring Ball - a gala fundraiser event raising money for the centre.
