The event saw an impressive turnout of about 50 attendees, all eager to forge new connections and integrate into the vibrant Hervey Bay community. The New to Town Café aims to create a welcoming environment for community members who have recently moved to Hervey Bay or those looking for support to connect and discover the various activities and services available in the area. The event was hosted by HBNC Operations Manager, Christian Berechree, who ensured a smooth and engaging experience for all participants. Maureen Hall, HBNC’s Aged & Inclusion Manager, emphasised the importance of such events in fostering a sense of belonging and community spirit. “At HBNC, we understand the challenges of moving to a new place and the importance of feeling connected,” Maureen said. “The New to Town Café is all about bringing people together, providing support, and helping everyone find their place in Hervey Bay.” The event featured a variety of activities designed to encourage mingling and networking, as well as information sessions about local services, groups, and upcoming events.
