About us News Morning Tea to Welcome New Fraser Coast Residents HBNC is hosting a morning tea on Monday 5th of August for anyone who has recently moved to the Fraser Coast, or has been here for a while and wants to meet others and connect with local activities. HBNC Manager of Aged and Inclusion, Maureen Hall, said the morning tea was aimed at welcoming new residents to Hervey Bay, as well as showcasing some of the activities, programs and events happening around the region. Maureen said the event, held at the Urangan Community Wellness Centre on the corner of Elizabeth and Miller Streets, was part of the Connecting Communities Social Prescription program, which connects locals to social activities and events and helps create connection. “There are plenty of wonderful things to do in our region, but sometimes people may need a hand to find them, or want someone to go with them for the first time,” Maureen said. “The New to Town morning tea is a perfect way for new locals to meet other new residents, find out what is happening from HBNC staff and connect with local groups, clubs and information.” “It doesn’t matter if you moved here last week or 20 years ago, all are welcome to the morning tea.” Bookings are essential.
