Register online for the Picnic Under the Stars Tanya Stevenson, Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre CEO, said the Picnic Under the Stars was set to be the perfect follow up to the Tree House Ball, held in May. “We were thrilled to raise $20,000 at the Tree House Ball, now we’re ready to try something new with the Picnic Under the Stars,” Tanya said. “The wellness centre will be set in Hervey Bay’s stunning botanic gardens so we thought – what better place to host our next fundraiser?” Tanya said funds raised at the garden party would go towards the fit-out of the new wellness centre. The initial build has been funded by $1.5 million from the Federal Government. “We’re just a few months away from finishing the major expansion to the Urangan Community Centre, which is being transformed into a health and wellbeing hub,” Tanya said. “The job doesn’t end there, however, and we still need community support to make this centre a valuable long-term asset for the region.” The Urangan centre is owned by the Fraser Coast Regional Council and managed by the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre. Metcalfe Constructions have completed the impressive construction work, set to be complete by December 2021. Register online for the Picnic Under the Stars.
