A range of electric and hybrid vehicles will be on show at HBNC’s Future of Cars panel discussion and showcase, at the Neighbourhood Hive on Thursday, May 19. The event is part of HBNC’s Local Learning Network, a series of events and workshops aimed at introducing Fraser Coast residents to new ideas, skills and connections.

During the event, Fraser Coast residents will be able to bring all their questions about cars of the future, and how communities are planning for the transition to increased use of electric, hybrid and autonomous vehicles.

HBNC Community Development Manager Cate Akaveka said attendees would be able to get a close look at some of the vehicles already on the market and hear from the expert panel of car owners, car dealers and government spokespeople on a variety of topics including the costs, range, safety and style of vehicles.

Ms Akaveka said the event was one of a range of panel discussions and talk events coming up at the Neighbourhood Hive, aimed at meeting the interests of community members.

“There has been a lot of interest in electric and hybrid cars and the Neighbourhood Hive is the perfect place to showcase these cars and share information to our community,” Ms Akaveka said.

“The Local Learning Network is about the sharing of ideas through local knowledge and encouraging friendships to develop over connected interests. This event will enable local car enthusiasts to expand their knowledge, and give community members the chance to find out more.”

The Future of Cars event is taking place at the Neighbourhood Hive, 184 Boat Harbour Drive, Pialba on Thursday May 19 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Tickets are $5 per person with a BBQ dinner and drinks for sale at the event.
