We are a healthy eating environment: Ideas for essential nutritional food groups for your child's lunch box. There is no sharing of food in the centre due to allergies, intollerances either known or unknown. WE ARE A NUT FREE CENTRE: NO PEANUT BUTTER, COCONUT, ALMONDS, NUTS IN CONTAINERS. Please check with Director. Water is the optimum drink, a seperate drink bottle is required so the child can access a drink throughout the day. Each child requires their own drink bottle, we do not share. If your child does not have their own drink bottle a cup is made available. Dairy cheese: slices, cubed, grated. Yoghurt, custard, rice cream, puddings, dips. Milk: plain or flavoured. (Please be aware of sugar content). Meat or Meat alternatives left overs, canned tuna or salmon, boiled eggs, chicken, savoury slices, mini quiche, soups, cold meat. vegetarian meals, gluten free meals, baked beans, spaghetti, noodles, sandwiches, flans, pies, patties, rissoles. Vegetables Salads, any vegetable: sliced, sticks, grated, pureed, soups. Pies, piklets, muffins, sandwiches, cream cheese, dips. Fruit Fresh any kind in season, canned, pureed, stewed, dried, in jelly, cut up in containers. Breads and Cereals Rolls, pita, sandwiches, rice crackers, savoury crackers, scrolls, pasta, rice, breakfast cereals, damper, muslie biscuits or slice, fruit bread, scone, bun or scroll. Fruit cake, banana, carrot or apple. PLEASE BE AWARE: Fat, sugar, salt content in some foods - DO NOT INCLUDE IN LUNCH BOX STAPLES- lollies, candy, chocolate, cream cakes, roll ups, fruit sticks, sports drinks, fizzy drinks. Popcorn is suitable for over 3yrs of age, but care needs to be taken with younger children eating apples, carrot, seeds, dried fruit as choking can happen. Birthdays are the exception where cake and treats are allowed.
